Firefox now supports touchpad hold gestures on Linux. This means that kinetic (momentum) scrolling can now be interrupted by placing two fingers on the touchpad.

Hardware-accelerated playback of HEVC video content is now supported on Windows.

Ecosia's availability has been expanded to all languages in the German region along with Austria, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Firefox now follows the model HTML specification for transient user activation more closely. This change makes popup blocking less strict in cases where previous versions of Firefox were overly aggressive, reducing erroneous blocking prompts.

A refreshed New Tab layout is being rolled out to users in the United States, featuring a repositioned logo and weather widget to prioritize Web Search, Shortcuts, and Recommended Stories at the top. The update includes changes to the card UI for recommended stories and allows users with larger screens to see up to four columns, making better use of space. Currently available in: United States This feature is part of a progressive roll out. What is a progressive roll out? Certain new Firefox features are released gradually. This means some users will see the feature before everyone does. This approach helps to get early feedback to catch bugs and improve behavior quickly, meaning more Firefox users overall have a better experience.

Improved support for debugging web extensions, such as automatically reloading the web extension's source code in the Debugger when the extension is reloaded.

Debugger log-point values are now automatically converted into profiler markers, making it easy to add information to the marker timeline directly from the Debugger.

The Network panel displays information about Early Hints, including a dedicated indicator for the 103 HTTP status code in the user interface.

Intl.DurationFormat (Nightly release): Intl.DurationFormat enables locale-sensitive formatting of durations. ( Firefox bug 1648139 ).

autocorrect : dom.forms.autocorrect . The HTML autocorrect attribute and HTMLElement.autocorrect property allow autocorrection in editable text elements, including: most kinds of text <input> elements, <textarea> elements, and elements that have the contenteditable attribute set ( Firefox bug 1725806 ).

The align-self and justify-self CSS properties and place-self CSS shorthand property are now supported for absolutely positioned elements. ( Firefox bug 1920160 ).

Support for the RegExp.escape() static method that can be used to escape any potential regex syntax characters in a string, returning a new string that can be safely used as a literal pattern for the RegExp() constructor. ( Firefox bug 1918235 ).

The Promise.try() convenience method is now supported. The method takes a callback of any kind (a function that returns or throws, synchronously or asynchronously) and wraps its result in a Promise . This allows you to use promise semantics ( .then() , .catch() ) to handle the result from any kind of method. ( Firefox bug 1917879 and Firefox bug 1905364 ).

The PushManager.supportedContentEncodings static method is now supported for getting the allowed algorithms for encrypting the payload of a push message . ( Firefox bug 1497430 ).

AudioParam.value now allows the value to be set even during the time that an automated event is scheduled: previously the operation would silently be ignored at those times. ( Firefox bug 1308435 ).

The ReadableStreamBYOBReader.read() method has a new argument options.min that can be used to specify the minimum number of elements to be returned on each call. This might, for example, be used to avoid unnecessary iteration when working with data structures that have a known data size. ( Firefox bug 1864406 ).

WebRTC simulcast of screen-shared video with the VP8 codec is now supported (simulcast from other video sources has been enabled for a long time). More precisely, MediaStreamTrack objects for screen and window capture (for example, from MediaDevices.getDisplayMedia() ), can now be encoded as multiple simulcast layers when using VP8. ( Firefox bug 1692873 ).

Implemented the browser.getClientWindows command, which allows to retrieve information about the currently opened browser windows ( Firefox bug 1855025 )

Added support for the initiatorType and destination fields to all network events ( Firefox bug 1904892 and Firefox bug 1933331 ). They allow to understand why and how the request was created.

The browsingContext.navigationStarted event is no longer emitted when the initial about:blank page is loaded for a new top-level browsing context ( Firefox bug 1922014 )

We fixed a bug where the requestTime of network events would sometimes be set to 0 ( Firefox bug 1930849 )

The browsingContext.traverseHistory command can now only be used with top-level browsing contexts ( Firefox bug 1924859 )
